Day 1
Ladies will receive their welcome gifts and spend some time getting to know the group. A restful night awaits each participant at the Hilton’s comfortable accommodations, with everyone enjoying their own private room for the first night, regardless of whether they chose shared accommodation or solo travel. Airport transfers will be provided by Hilton.
Day 2
Meet your shuttle driver as your beach city adventure awaits! But first, visit the country’s famous Juan Santamaria monument and pass through Heredia province to see the fort and other significant sites. The group will then travel south to the province of Limón on the Caribbean side, arriving at Playa Cocles. Stay at a jungle resort—don’t worry, there is air conditioning in every hotel during your trip.
Days 3–4
Learn to cook Caribbean cuisine in the well-known town of Puerto Viejo. Cooking will take place in a jungle setting, where you’ll bond with new friends while learning about the local culture and typical flavor profiles of this region. Visit a rescue center to gain a better understanding of the country’s wildlife. With all this activity, you’ll also have time to relax and cool off at the beach.
Days 5–7
Travel to La Fortuna in the province of Alajuela, where you’ll stay close to Arenal Volcano (don’t worry, the volcano is not currently active). This area is a popular destination, making it a great spot to mingle with other travelers. Cross hanging bridges in the middle of the rainforest and enjoy a day at the hot springs to relax your travel-weary muscles.
Days 8–9
In the province of Guanacaste, you’ll have the chance to see and feed giraffes—yes, giraffes! —on a tropical “safari” ride. At this adventure park, you will also enjoy river tubing and zip lining by a waterfall.
Days 10–11
Unwind at an all-inclusive resort on the beach in the province of Puntarenas. This is the Pacific Ocean side, where you can watch the sunset and enjoy nightly resort shows. You might want to consider “resort” or “smart casual” attire for dinner, but it’s your vacation—so you decide! There are also non-motorized water activities available during the day.
Day 12
Take an automobile/passenger ferry from the Puntarenas peninsula to the mainland on your way to the province of San José. Stay in the city, where there are plenty of shopping opportunities amid the hustle and bustle. Don’t forget to take some photos at the National Theater, which has stood for over 127 years.
Day 13
Head to the province of Cartago for some sightseeing. Experience Costa Rican pride as festivities are held to celebrate their independence. September 15th is the country’s Independence Day.
Day 14
Don’t forget to exchange contact information with your new friends as you head back to the airport to depart beautiful Costa Rica.
Notes:
Breakfast is included each day of the trip, starting the day after arrival. Several other meals are also included, such as at the all-inclusive resort and during your cooking session.

Who we are
As the founder of Parasolo Travel, I hope that others can enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Costa Rica as I have throughout my life. I was raised in the United States, but both of my parents were born in Costa Rica, migrating to the US in the late 60s to enjoy their dual citizenship. They would often bring me to Costa Rica and show me where they went to school, where they use to hang out, and tell me stories like how my grandfather use to be the “Mango Tree Lawyer” because he gave advice in the center of the city by the mango trees (which still sits there from at least the early 1900s). As a child, I remember spending time at my grandparents’ house (on a rock-hard bed) and having to wake up every morning when the rooster crowed next to my window. Even still, I loved waking up to the smiles of family members and the fresh bread my grandfather would bring home with a stick of “yellow” butter. At my other grandma’s house, I was always on the go because she was always on the go. I don’t remember anywhere we went; I can only recall her quick movement through small towns, the fact that she was always smiling, and constantly finding full meals in her small purse. On a side note, she had the softest arms on the planet and would constantly tell me to leave her arms alone as she laughed about it.
Since then, I have traveled to every province, enjoying the culture, the rainforest, and the beaches on both coasts. I ‘ve also been able to share my Costa Rican culture with my husband and kids for the past several years. At this point, they have practically seen as much as I have… I hope my kids will have something to think back on and share with their own families in years to come.
I now realize that there are plenty of women that would vacation in Costa Rica, but they may not know anyone willing to take the journey with them, or they are simply afraid of traveling to the unknown. Because of this, I wanted women to feel confident knowing that the vacation was planned for them with firsthand knowledge of the country. Adding to that, this would give women the opportunity to make some new friends along the way.
Ladies, this is your opportunity to create your own memories in Costa Rica.
